Wayne St. John
has been in the 'Music Industry' for forty years and has
continually expanded his knowledge in many areas. Mr. St. John's
entrepreneurial business strategies have placed him among the unique
entities in his fields. He's a positive thinker with a
spiritual eloquence, a vision weaver;
a seeker of the truth, his vision quest has always drawn him to
be apart of helping humankind come together and raisingthe
vibration on the planet to the level of 'One Love' and or 'One Race'
partly through music and lyrics that speak to the times we're in.
Sounds idealistic, impossible? Well his latest album Kiss
My Planet has all the ingredients to make people think.
The lyrics on this album begs the the question, how long can we
keep this up? Watching and contributing to the destruction of Gaia
Mother Earth while we so do little to change our bad habits, all
the while being caught up in all the distractions that keeps us
from our true path and the real reason why we are spirit beings
having this physical experience. We must open our minds.

'Song For
My Father' A song by Horus Silver
Doug Riley, Dr. Music, aka Doc. April 24,
1945 - August 28, 2007
I have personally logged hundreds of recording
hours with the gentle giant, Doug Riley or 'Doc' as the friends
that worked with him often called him. Upon hearing
the news of his death early Tuesday morning of August 28th, I felt
sick that whole day. Rob McConnell once asked me when we were working
on a CBC multiple recording for me, "Wayne who is God in this
town" and I replied "Doug Riley" and he said "You
better believe it, because he has continually given the most work
to the most musicians in this town for many years".
The first time I saw Doug play was in the
early 60's at Al Steiner's Club Bluenote. He was a remarkable an
enigmatic player then and I got to work with Doc for the last time
on the Tribute to Domenic Troiano on May 29th 2007, and at one point
that evening, Doug was all by himself on the Hammond B3 and by the
end of his solo I felt like I was levitating. That's what he was
capable of doing consistently. I owe so much to Doc for all the
work and magical hours in the recording studio doing 25 of CBC's
TV half hour 'Music Machine' in 1974, featuring Dr. Music and Soul
Company. I sang on some of his film scores, jingles and playing
live with him in Dr. Music and he came out and sat in with me when
I was playing drums and singing.
The We All Need Love tribute to Domenic Troiano
at the Palis Royal Ballroom was a success on May 29th. CBC radio
One was there to record the performances of John Finlay & The
Checkmates, Howard Ayee, Sam Consiglio, Colina Phillips, Paul DeLong,
Doug Riley, Bernie LaBarge, Jay Jackson, Roy Kenner, Shawne Jackson,
Bill King, Prakash John, Jordan John, Ali Slaight, Wayne St. John,
Robbie Lane, Julian Troiano, Gregory Vitale, Sharon Lee Williams,
Call Dodd, Dave McMorrow and John Donabie reprised his role as emcee.
Another historic moment in Canadian History.

'Tears Are Not Enough' on the We Are The
World album. Featuring 53 of Canada's most notables. At the end
of the song there were ad libs from Sharon Lee Williams, Lisa Dal
Bello and Wayne St. John.
On
July 20, 2005, Wayne received an email from a record collector in
New Jersey and he told Wayne that his 1971 45 single
'Stand Up' (Baby)was selling on Ebay for $400.00 for a used copy in 2002!
As it turns out Stand Up (Baby) is a collectors item as it was one
of those releases which missed the major radio exposure when it
was released.
Soon
you'll be able to buy some original out of the box copies at this
site. The group name on the single is 'Saint
John', formally 'Hairafter' on Frank Davies' Strawberry
Records label.
Wayne's
biography links below will detail
his area of expertise, his history and qualifications. If you need
to hire a Choir
for a corporate event you've come to the right place! Wayne
once opened for the Toronto Rock Awards show at Massey Hall.
He and Vivianne Williams and his 62 voice
choir tore the place up with one of Wayne's gospel
burners called 'Treasure of Freedom'.
The
most outstanding thing about the gig was, Wayne quipped, "There
was not one problem with anything or anybody even with that large
group of people who sang like angels".
