End of 2006 - Choir Events

A most excellent brunch

Wayne will be performing at the Boiler House at the Distillery doing a Saturday morning Blues/Jazz and R&B Brunch.

From 11 A.M. to 3 P.M. Located at Mill Street and Trinity Street. Its a four acre lot between Cherry Street and Parliment Street south of Front Street.

It's easy to find, the Boiler House is to the left of the main gate, it's the only building with a smoke stack.

A Jazz Brunch with the Wayne St. John & Dennis Keldie on Hammond B3 at the Boiler House. The Wayne is featured on Guitar, Vocals, and Pan flute.

Saturday February 28th will feature Jazz vocalist Gillian Margot with the Nathaniel Dett Chorale, Gillian will expose us to some of her favorite songs.

Wayne's Choir Gigs

The following PSA called 'The Dissappearing' featuring Wayne St. John and the Children's choir was made by the Canadian production community to help the Foundation in its fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. They were released for distribution on October 19, 2004.

Music and Choir produced by Chris Dedrick with Wayne St. John on lead with his adult choir and the Children's Choir doing the coral work.

 

2003 - Loblaws Corporate show featuring Wayne, Michael Dunston and Carmela Long and a twenty two voice choir performed.


In September 2002, Wayne and 7 other singers sang on a video presented to Her Majesty the Queen while she visited Toronto. The video was a collection of historical video spanning her rein. It was in celebration of her 50th Jubilee.

In 2001 Wayne and his choir helped the advertising agency Cossette win the MacDonald's account worth 57 million dollars a years for five years. Check the article in the Business Section of the Toronto Star.

2000 *Wayne and a small Choir performed at a CD release party for 'Food For Chiapas'. The community based project produced a 17 song Compilation CD album. Wayne donated his song 'Body Mind and Spirit to the project and the CBC librarian sent out Wayne's song to their radio affiliate's as one of the top three picks on this diverse album that is being played across the country at this time.


1999 *Nathan Phillips Square, United Way Fund Raiser.
Wayne and a 12 voice choir sang 'Under A Spiritual Sky.'


1998 *A Song contest held at the Medical arts Center ~
Wayne and a 16 voice choir beat the competition as his choir won first prize performing his song 'Under A Spiritual Sky'.


1997 Rita and Friends (Rita McNiel) a CBC television series ~
Wayne and 38 voice Choir performed on the first and fourth show of Rita's first national series.


1996 The Rita McNiel Christmas Special on CBC
~ Wayne and his 25 voice choir performed on her first big budget Toronto TV Superspecial...

1996 *100th year Celebration of the Olympics ~
At the Queen Elizabeth Theater for a fund raiser and silent auction;
Dianne Brooks, Ofra Harnoy plus Wayne and his 30 member Innercity-World Peace Choir performed.

1995 *Queen's Park, Canada Day Celebrations ~
Wayne and a 25 voice Choir performed 'Canada I Want To Shake Your Hand', the historical song was introduced to the public when they changed Dominion Day to Canada Day. Featured with the choir was Charlie Gray on flügelhorn horn.


1994 *The Anne Murray Christmas Special on CBC ~ Wayne hired the choir and sang with the 25 voice ensemble.


1993 * Wayne and Shawne Jackson plus a 42 voice choir performed at Toronto's Sky Dome for the worlds biggest breakfast for the Special Olympics.

1992 *Toronto Convention Center, Million Dollar Round Table ~
Wayne and 16 voice choir with a live band

performed for seven thousand people.


1992 *Ministries of Culture and Citizenship - Awards Program.
Wayne and a 12 voice choir sang 'Under A Spiritual Sky' a St. John original, it's being played as you read on.

At this Historic Event the choir performed for 500 reciepients of the Culture Award's Program. One of Canada's finest singer's Carlos Morgan http://www.carlosmorgan.com/ is also a featured singer of the live Massey Hall recording herein.

1992 *The first 'Live Unity' concert at Massey Hall. Produced by Jack Lenz.
Wayne and his 42 voice World Peace Choirperformed his song 'Under A Spiritual sky', for the first time. The recording is heard throughout this web site.
That evening Wayne and the choir also backed-up
Sharon Lee Williams, Buffy Ste. Marieand Dan Seals.


1991 *Wayne conducted a 85 voice children's choir for CBC'S TV Live for July first celebrations on Parliament Hill Ottawa.


1991  *Earth Day in New York at the United Nations building~ performed for live audience and private feed to the astronauts in space. Wayne and the green-Ever-Blue Choir backed up Raffi singing his Award winning song's on the Environment. The performance was seen around the world with the 50 or more news crews on hand and translators were used in over 182 languages, a mega production to say the least!


1991 Anne Murray CBC television Special in Nova Scotia. Wayne and a 20 voice choir prerecorded their voice's to be heard only.

1991 *12 voice gospel choir for Michael Bolton at the Copps Coliseum in Hamilton.


1990 *Wayne co-produced a variety show in conjunction with The Toronto Metro Police held at the CNE's Bandshell. Wayne, Staff Inspector Woodcock and Constable Joe Gatavekus CO-produced the event showcasing many local entertainers, Wayne also led the 25 voice Innercity choir.


1989 *Wayne CO-produceda variety show in conjunction with The Toronto Metro Police called 'Clean Start'. Wayne led his 25 voice Innercity choir.
His choir performed at the Dufferin Mall for a show
promoting harmony between the Toronto Metro Police and the local Community. CO-produced by Wayne and Staff Inspector Woodcock.

1989 *Historic First for new HMV music store opening at 333 Yonge street. Wayne and his 24 voice choir sang at three separate openings @ 333... The first day was for HMV staff all over the Country. The second day was for VIP's and the third day was for the general public and as the doors opened for them at 12 noon, they were greeted with live music on three floors. On the top floor was the incredible Oscar Peterson and downstairs on the main floor was The Wayne St. John Choir pumping of Sly Stone etc., followed by Criss Issacs, who was amazing!
Wayne an his 24 voice choir performed a 30 minute set at this landmark store's event opening.
